Shared Care Agreements

  • Shared care agreements will only be considered with NHS providers. GPs can refuse a shared care agreement if he or she is not happy with the burden of responsibility it puts on the GP, and then the consultant must take full responsibility for prescribing and any necessary monitoring.
  • Sherburn and Rillington Practice will not enter into shared care agreements with any private providers.
  • The decision to enter into a shared care agreement will be based on the clinical needs of the patient and the ability of both parties to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the agreement.
